During the spring of 2019, Tade Oyerinde, the founder and CEO of Campuswire sent me the following message on Dribbble:
"Your UI work looks really great. I'm building Campuswire which is like Slack but for university classes and wanted to explore working together"
We changed a couple of emails to gather more information about the project. After we agreed on the terms and details, we defined the following goals:
Thankfully, Tade already did his research and gathered some information about user needs and goals. Therefore I didn't have to do too much research. The cooperation went well smoothly and it was a great fun to work on the project. For more information please visit their app and website.
Design-wise the only limitation was the resolution. As we have seen in Google Analytics, the most popular device was the 13 inch screen Macbook and the iPad. optimizing the stylesheet and components to

One significant improvement we made was separating general comments and correct answers. Users often couldn't figure out or found relevant information. We introduced a new Answers tab and disabled the LaTeX function under the comments tab. This update provided a more convenient method for users to look for and leave their comments in the appropriate section.

Although most users liked the updates and said the UI is clean and the UX got better, sadly – based on current ratings and comments on the App Store –, the technical implementation did not make the users happy. There are a lot of technical complaints about crashes or non-functioning basic features. I wrote a [https://new.miklosbarton.com/blog/5-things-to-avoid-when-your-create-your-own-product] about not so long ago. However, I wish Tade and his passionate Campuswire team all the best, and I hope they will fix the apps soon and will be able to provide a better experience to users.

Design system: I created the design library in Sketch, which did the job quite well, but I wish I would have used Figma instead. As I started using Figma later, I found out that it is easier to create dynamic elements and generate layouts with different states.
UX/UI changes: the community received the updated user interface, and interaction flows well. Separating the answers & comments made it easier to identify general comments and proper solutions.
Development: Despite all my effort – based on current ratings and comments on the App Store –, the technical implementation does not make people happy. Sadly, many of them complain about crashes or non-functioning basic features. Unfortunately it is kind of a bummer, which I have written about earlier in a blog post not so long ago
